The 7th Annual Taste of Italy to hit Milwaukee April 22nd.

Come out to the 17th Annual Taste of Italy at the  Italian Community Center on April 22nd from 11:30 am. to 3:30 p.m. This free event offers a wide variety of Itallian cuisine for low prices. Organizers say the entire Italian Community Center will be used for A Taste of Italy, each part of the facility will feature a different type of food.

A Taste of Italy is being organized by volunteers, and is being funded by donations. “This event would not be possible without the support of the local Italian societies and organizations, generous food purveyors, the volunteers of the ICC and various organizations and the cooperation of the Italian Conference Center staff,” said Romano.  “After Festa Italiana, this event – ‘A Taste of Italy’ – is our biggest fund-raising activity.  The success of ‘A Taste of Italy’ helps the ICC continue its mission in Milwaukee.”

“When you look at God one way, He’s the same way backwards,” Martinez said.

Check out the 9th Annual Ice Sculptin Competition

The 9th Annual Ice Sculpting Competition takes place tomorrow, Friday, January 20 during Winter Gallery Night and Day. Artists have eight hours to carve their creations out of a 300 pound block of ice!

Sculpting takes place at Catalano Square (where Broadway and Menomonee meet) from 10am to 6pm. Judging begins promptly at 6pm. Winners will be announced at 7pm at Club Charlies (320 E. Menomonee St.).

This year's theme is Summertime... and the Living is Easy. We hope the thought of summer will help keep the carvers warm and dry. The weather forecast indicates a temperature of 18 degrees and 2-5 inches of snow!

We encourage you to stop by Catalano Square and watch the sculptors at work. It is amazing to watch a 300 pound block of ice be carved into a work of art!
